The Never-ending Quest to Stay Hydrated!
So we all know how important it is to stay hydrated. In fact, if anyone truly could live under a rock in this day and age they would probably be finding creative ways to drink ground water because even They would know how important hydration is! I’ve seen real medical issues occur especially with some of the older folks in my family when they fail to hydrate and I myself know how lousy I feel when despite my best efforts, I become even slightly dehydrated. We joke in the family that when my husband’s Uncle was told to drink water, he would often respond ” Water?! That stuff sinks ships!” He has a point. I know that many people say they just don’t like drinking water, or they just can’t find the time. So what to do? Well the simplest answer my friends is: Drink Water! BUT when that fails, we need to get creative.
I’ve found that infused and flavored waters help me; My guests are often intrigued to discover what combo I’ve made for the day. Yes the day. I try to start each day by filling a water jug with water and adding fruit and/or herbs. I keep a Carafe of infused water on my desk throughout the day. Fill your water bottle on the way out the door and add a slice of orange or a few basil leaves. It sounds simply silly, but it really does help. We all have a few pieces of “touched” fruit in the fruit bowl or fridge, why not cut out the brown spots and slice it into your water jug or infuser?! Maybe you have some fresh herbs leftover from the recipe you made last night… get creative and you might just find that you can intrigue yourself with new flavors. Some of my favorite combos I have discovered are: strawberry cilantro, cranberry basil, tangerine ginger, watermelon, apple thyme, and cucumber mint to name a few. I’d love to hear your combos and hydration hacks! Share them with us on Social media #SoGALhowIDI (So Good At Life How I do It.)
I’ve included some links to some great products that might help you get, well not exactly excited, but perhaps at least interested in drinking more water. Happy Hydrating!
